My Opinion
First off, I want to say that I am so glad that I bought a physical copy of this book instead of renting a copy from the library. Why you say? Because it was awesome! Just about every page was filled with humor that you would of sworn I laid a golden egg from all the snickering I was doing.
The one scene that had me in hysterics was when Hannah fell through the steps leading to her sleeping quarters and Jericho got an unexpected peep at Hannah’s shapely legs when he was trying to help her. Lord have mercy, Karen, boy did you write that scene perfectly! I could just imagine it in my mind as it was happening – oh it still makes me giggle thinking about it.
I also loved how Hannah and JT was always at each other’s throats bickering (I love it when there is some good banter between the main characters). I loved how she ribbed him with his given name, which he hated but eventually he learned to love being called it when it comes from Hannah’s lips. He may of been a big ‘ol grouchy bear but inside, he was a warm, kind, and caring man – you just had to get past his ‘wall’ to see it.
I haven’t read all of Karen’s books yet, but I think this one might just be my favorite due to the humorous barbs and scenes in it. Well done Karen!
